Abstract
This study examines the implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) in schools and its impact on student behavior and school climate. Recognizing the need for effective, positive discipline frameworks, this research analyzes both quantitative data, such as disciplinary referrals and attendance rates, and qualitative feedback from teachers and students. In the school, behavior that require office referrals are at an all-time high. A system is needed to be put in place to ensure that students are receiving behavior instruction. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study gathered data from different leveled schools; elementary, middle and high schools, to test the effectiveness of PBIS in their school systems. Results indicate a significant decrease in behavioral incidents and an improvement in overall school climate. The findings suggest that with proper training, consistency, and support, PBIS can positively influence student behavior and foster a more positive learning environment. Future research should explore long-term outcomes of PBIS and strategies for overcoming common implementation challenges.
