Abstract
Students are experiencing a rise in mental health challenges, which can have a negative impact on academic performance, lead to an increase in undesirable behaviors, and result in attendance issues. Research shows that creating a positive school community can contribute to the well-being of students. A school improvement plan has been developed to foster a sense of community at Loess Hills. Both students and staff will be involved in surveys, focus groups, and the inclusion of a social-emotional curriculum. Promoting a positive culture where students can thrive can be achieved by raising awareness and providing support for young people dealing with mental health issues.
