Description

Kuac, Gat Luak, and group listen to gospel recordings in Nuer language. The little boy in the red and white striped shirt is the younger brother of Puok Deang (the one with hand by his ear). Puok Deang is the leader in that village. His mother, Man Puok Deang set up churches there. Puok’s little brother called Arlene a few years ago, and wept and said if it hadn’t been for the missionaries who came to them, they would have never come to know Jesus and probably would have been Muslims or continued in their animistic religions. He became the governor of…something? Noor. (dev. March 1963) [Arlene wants to double check this with a Nuer.]
