Nelson De Jong (1903-1991), at the bequest of the Northwestern College Archivist, made cassette tape recordings about West Lawn Cemetery and the history of Orange City, Iowa. A volunteer for the cemetery association, De Jong compiled an extensive knowledge about the history and inhabitants of the cemetery. Additionally, he provided detailed reminiscence of life in the early 1900s.
