Abstract
Reverend Mannes A. Stegeman (1884 -1958) was born in Harrison, South Dakota. He was a graduate of Hope College and Western Theological Seminary, Holland, Michigan. He was ordained in 1910 as a pastor in the Reformed Church in America. He served churches in Springfield, South Dakota; Cleveland, Ohio; Overisel, Michigan; Firth, Nebraska; and Hospers, Lester, and Melvin, Iowa. He married Elizabeth Barkema (1911-1933); following her death he married Florence Druger Terpstra (1887-1973) in 1935. She previously married Sip Terpstra in 1910. Both Sip and their son, Eugene, died in a flood west of Orange City, Iowa, in September 1926. Collection includes biographical information and family histories, diaries, ledgers, note on Reformed Practical Theology IV, sermons, and correspondence (including some with Frank and Ralph Le Cocq.)
