Henry Hospers was instrumental in the development and creation of Orange City, Iowa, and Northwestern Classical Academy. A Dutch immigrant, Hospers moved to the Orange City area in 1871. The collection includes photos of Hospers, his home in Orange City, and his family members. The collection also includes a Poorter's Oath signed in 1791 by Henry Hospers' grandparents, Hendrik and Anne (Mooji) Hospers, in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
