Abstract

For the past few weeks, I have had the absolute privilege of being Dramaturg for Northwestern College’s upcoming production of Harvey, under the direction of Ethan Koerner. This research delves into the 1940s, what life might have been like as far as psychology and mental health is concerned, as well as the folklore that is laced throughout the play itself, with little tidbits about the inspiring playwright and the work of a dramaturg. I hope you find something new from this information and that it helps you further enjoy our production of “Harvey” when you come see it in April!

Dramaturgy for the Theatre Production "Harvey"

For the past few weeks, I have had the absolute privilege of being Dramaturg for Northwestern College’s upcoming production of Harvey, under the direction of Ethan Koerner. This research delves into the 1940s, what life might have been like as far as psychology and mental health is concerned, as well as the folklore that is laced throughout the play itself, with little tidbits about the inspiring playwright and the work of a dramaturg. I hope you find something new from this information and that it helps you further enjoy our production of “Harvey” when you come see it in April!
