Jacob H. Melchers emigrated from The Netherlands to the United States in 1908. He and his wife Dena Mieras Melchers, whom he married in 1920, collected postcards from the United States and Europe. This collection includes a number of those postcards, plus photos of Jacob and Dena Melchers. While the postcard collection at DeWitt Library covers a number of topics, this online exhibit pays particular attention to the cards showing scenes from Iowa.
