NCRG 25.3 Box 4

The Westside Four was a folk singing quartet organized in 1962-1963. It consisted of four Maurice-Orange City High School friends who lived on the west side of town: Nolan Bogaard, Jim Bolluyt, William Kalsbeek, and Leroy Netten. The group sang a cappella or accompanied by piano until they all became students at Northwestern College in 1964-1965, when they added guitars and a bass. The group made a record of their favorite songs in 1966 with funding from the Lion's Club. Leroy Netten's death in the summer of 1966 brought an end to the group.

We have an original vinyl record and a music CD copy of the record of You Can Tell the World.

We also have access to digital files of the Westside record album. These were made by Kevin Hop, nephew of quartet member Leroy Netten. Until song copyrights become clear/open, however, we cannot make the link public.
