Newspaper feature of wooden shoemaker Jacob Van Hoff. Printed in the Sunday Des Moines Register, May 1937. Text reads, "Rapid Maniupation of this blade smooths off the shoe and rounds it into shpae. Althought native of Asia, tulips became Holland's national flower after their introducitont here in the sixteenth century. About 1634 government restrictions were necessary to halt speculation in tulip bulbs."
